Meet Mr. Otis or sometimes known as Otisbert Humperdink, Otie Oat, and Oti. He's a wonderful boy. We adopted him from the Humane Society over two years ago and it's been a trial at times, but definitely worth it.
It was obvious when we brought him home that he was both abused and neglected. It infuriates me and if I ever ran into his first "owners" I would punch them right in the face. Who could do this to any animal? I think it's a pretty good barometer of humanity when you look at how they treat the innocent.
It has taken a good two years for Otis to get to the point where he is not scared. He has learned how to walk on a leash, and most important, he has learned how to love and trust. Otis is definitely slow to warm up to people, but once he does, the love and adoration he shows is something that can't be measured and will warm the coldest and blackest heart. I love his little short crooked legs and his sneak attack kisses.

Next on the list of our current brood is Mr Poppy, otherwise known as PopPop, PopTart, PopNFresh, and Big Poppa Spendin' G's. I've had the privelage to be the custodian of many pets in my life and I've love and have loved them all so dearly, but every once and awhile you get a special one. Poppy is my special one. I'm never going to have kids and that is my choice, but I will say, my little Poppy brings out the maternal side of me. He is by far the sweetest, most stable, loving dog I've ever owned. I laugh everyday at his little idiosyncracies - underbite, turned legs, long body, and bouncing ears. Poppa was rescued as well and was to be euthanized the day the rescue group pulled him. It's so sad to think of all these beautiful animals being euthanized for so many pointless reasons. Lucky for us, it was kismet and we found Poppy and he found us and it's been a match made in heaven since then. If I could clone this dog, I'd be a millionaire because he has zero issues. Not scared of people, loves other animals - he's currently having a torrid love affair with Sylvia the cat down the street, and just likes to hang.
Everyone that meets Poppy is smitten. Not to leave out Otis, because if you give him the chance, your hear will never be the same.

So that is our three and we love them. I miss Sierra and Marley deeply and their quirks and love still reside deeply in my heart.
